Before Sierra Leone’s decade-long civil war, many boys dreamt of footballing glory. But after a series of horrifying events in which amputation was common practice, the dream faded. Now though, with peace finally a reality, those most affected by the violence are turning back to the game they love.

The aim of Sportslife is to develop links with Christian and non Christian organisations and individuals through sport and eventually to provide a fully equipped Sports Training Centre for athletes, young people and children, especially the disadvantaged. Rev Yatta Samura who leads Sportslife is also the pastor to the Sierra Leone Soccer and Olympic Teams and as such, he is an ambassador for sport, his country and his faith.
Sportslife held a sports camp in December 2004 for over 150 youngsters of all faiths. The camp took place at Lunsar. It was therefore a strategically important location and time to hold a camp and it was a big success. More about the camp....
